This unique, handmade carpet runner was made in the town of Galaxidi, Greece in the late 1960s by a young mother named Maria for her daughter's bridal trousseau. For reasons now forgotten it was never used by the new bride and has been stored by her mother ever since. Now in her 70s Maria has decided that it's time to part with this beautiful memory and hopes it will find a nice home. Greek carpet of this type (handmade, tightly-woven, kourelou-style) are becoming extinct and hard to find due to the loss of skilled craftmakers. This exquisite piece is a one-of-a-kind item that's sure to be enjoyed for many years to come.
